Emily Love Therapy

Emily Pfannenstiel, lpc, lmhc

My philosophy is rooted in the belief that it is unjust to pathologize the human condition.

When selecting a therapist, it is important to think about fit. After all— it's hard to learn from someone if you don't like them, am I right? So let me tell you a little bit more about me and you can decide if we might make a good team: I was born and raised in Connecticut, but have since traveled and lived in various cities around the world. I love to run, to do yoga, and to create. I earned my Bachelor's degree in psychology and art at Connecticut College in 2012. Shortly after, I moved to California to join Teach For America and to pursue research at UC Berkeley—and almost never left. I came back to the East Coast to attend graduate school, where I studied counseling psychology at Columbia University. I earned my Master's degree in 2017, and have been working in the field ever since.

I recently studied under Harvard’s first ever meditation advisor, and continue to work to be in touch with the most revolutionary mindfulness practices. I’ve spent a great deal of time working with survivors of trauma, learning and thinking about family planning, helping clients navigate their many meaningful relationships, and determining better ways to regulate mood and anxiety symptoms. I love what I do, and I take my job to help you heal very seriously. We're in this together.
